Below is the link to the draft proposed zoning changes for the Aurora Licton Residential Urban Village. Nothing has been finalized and we have been informed that there will be five public meetings throughout the city regarding the proposed zoning changes in urban village between November 2016 and January 2017. To then be followed in the Spring by the release of a draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) and the final environmental impact statement (FEIS). City Council hearings would be held thereafter.

Seattle’s Night Out – Tuesday, August 2nd
NIGHT OUT IN SEATTLE
Seattle has had a long history of supporting Night Out. The program has been growing every year, with thousands of blocks participating each year. This type of community participation is what makes Seattle a great place to live.
The event is a unique opportunity to bring your neighbors together, welcome new neighbors, talk about crime prevention and Block Watch efforts, and mainly just have a great time with food, music, games – whatever you want. The creativity we’ve seen of what neighborhoods come up with is amazing. Some gatherings are just a few households; others expand into large block parties.

Mayors Find It/Fix It Walk
The Aurora-Licton community is invited to help plan the Aurora-Licton Find It, Fix It Community Walk, the first of seven Mayor-led walks happening this year. During these walks, neighbors, police, and City officials walk together to identify physical elements in the neighborhood that make it feel unsafe or poorly maintained. Examples include overgrown trees, graffiti, street light outages, and litter. Once the elements are identified, the City and community work together to fix the problems.
The Aurora-Licton walk will be held on Tuesday, May 31 from 6 – 7:30 p.m and will be centered on the area around Aurora Avenue N between N. 84th and 110th Streets and will follow a route determined by community members serving on its Community Walk Action Team (CWAT). If you are interested in serving on this team, contact Find It, Fix It Program Coordinator Hilary Nichols at hilary.nichols@seattle.gov or 206.386.1907.
The last CWAT meeting prior to the walk, where the route will be finalized, will be on Thursday, May 26th at 7:00 – 8:00 pm at Lantern Brewing (938 N. 95th Street). If community members are interested in speaking with Mayor Murray or at the walk in general, they need to be at the final CWAT meeting. Although, attendance alone will not guarantee a talking spot.
In addition, Aurora-Licton residents are invited to apply for up to $5000 to complete community projects that improve the safety or appearance of their neighborhood. To apply for the Aurora-Licton Community Project Grants, community members can find the application at seattle.gov/finditfixit beginning Wednesday, May 25 through Friday, June 10.
