ALUV
ALUV stands for Aurora Licton Urban Village, we are an alliance of residents, businesses, and organizations advocating for a more vibrant and livable urban village.
Our Mission
Build a pedestrian-safe, visually vibrant, economically sound, livable and welcoming urban village using sustainable-growth principles.
Our Urban Village
The Aurora-Licton Springs Residential Urban Village has a unique background rooted in Native American history and the development of the state highway system.
Today, Aurora-Licton Springs is a Residential Urban Village designated as such by the City of Seattle. Boundaries are:
- North 84th Street (southern)
- North 110th Street (northern)
- Fremont and Linden Avenues (western)
- Wallingford Avenue (eastern)
Since the 1994 Residential Urban Village designation, the urban village has experienced significant increases in residential density. But little else has changed. Aurora-Licton Springs is missing key characteristics of sustainable urban villages such as pedestrian infrastructure, locally-serving businesses, community meeting places and facilities and well-designed streetscapes. Aurora Avenue continues to divide rather than unite the community.
We seek collaboration to make our urban village unified and complete.
